ITINERARY:

  • 3 – 4 hours of FULLY COACHED swimming every day in pool and sea
  • Underwater filming, analysis and stroke correction and CSS Test
  • Group coaching with a focus on individual athlete needs
  • Upper body S&C plus programme to take home
  • Core strength training plus programme to take home
  • Sports Nutrition workshop and Training & CSS workshop
  • Optional end of week Aquathlon (run, swim, run) run by the resort. Individual or team competition (if you’re not  a runner)
  • End of week 1-1 reviews
  • Comprehensive 6 week follow-on swim programme based on individual needs and 1-1 reviews . (Three sessions p/w)
  • Sun, sea, sand and loads of fun with like-minded swimmers and triathletes
  • Provisional example itinerary on website as a guide with final itinerary coming soon

ACCOMMODATION:

At Sands Beach Resort, Costa Teguise, Lanzarote.

  • Pay for 5 days half-board and receive 7 as part of Tri50 offer (applied in some form to different lengths of stay)
  • Free wi-fi for Tri50 athletes
  • Accommodation prices include a discount for being a repeat booking with Tri50
  • Early check-in and late check-out as part of Tri50 offer (subject to room being available)
  • Small but well equipped supermarket on site plus washing machines and dryers

Please note that Sands Beach will be offering Tri50 athletes a very favourable discount on accommodation and once we have everything finalised with the resort, (end of May),  details will be posted here – please do not book any accommodation until then.

Flights:

Athlete choice. Arrive and leave when you wish from an airport of your choice. How about adding on a few days to have a holiday and bring your family to enjoy some R&R in the sunshine and on the beach. Sands Beach will happily arrange transfers.

Further Information:

  • Individual underwater filming, technique analysis and feedback
  • Small coach/athlete ratios to ensure individual attention throughout the camp
  • Fully coached pool swim sessions – average 2-3hrs per day (depending on whether also sea swimming)
  • 3 coached sea swim sessions. The sea swims are designed to cater for everyone. Jo and Sandra, along with Stefan and Ted, will provide the perfect coaching environment to build confidence in the sea while more experienced swimmers have the opportunity to build their swim endurance, and develop and practice their OW skills
  • Core strength, and upper body strength (led by Sandra who is also a L4 Master Personal Trainer.) Learn simple exercises necessary to help keep you fit and well and reduce your injury risk. And what exactly do we mean by ‘core’ anyway? By the time you go home you will have a programme to use that doesn’t require a gym, and you will know how to execute your exercises correctly
  • Workshops – Learn about sports nutrition for your training and racing; how to build your own basic training programme including how to use CSS sessions in the pool
  • All day, any day access to your Coaches to ask questions and pick brains. We are there to offer guidance and support, pass on our knowledge and share our experiences. But we also want to encourage input and discussion among the athletes so you too can pass on your key tips and reflections from your own experiences
  • Resort Aquathlon at the end of the week. Don’t worry if you’re not a runner, Tri50 coaches will be happy to be the ‘run’ leg of your relay team
  • Strength programme and Core Conditioning programme to take home
  • End of week 1-1 to discuss how best to plan your training, including a comprehensive individual 6 week swim training programme to use at home with up to 3 sessions per week
  • One free afternoon for a little R&R and sightseeing
  • Support, friendship and encouragement from a group of like-minded individuals which will almost certainly continue long past Day 5

GROUP MEAL

 

The first training session takes place before breakfast. We attend breakfast around  10 – 11am followed by a break before the afternoon sessions start. Saturday is the only exception when you can either go in early, or miss breakfast entirely, in order to fit in both swims before the end of the camp at lunchtime.

  • All pool swim sessions include technique (Swim Smooth ) and are coached by L3 coaches, Jo and Sandra
  • Swim distances/volume vary – long distance swimmers will be accommodated
