  • Core strength training plus programme to take home
  • S&C for triathletes plus programme to take home
  • End of week Aquathlon – open competition
  • Sun, sea, sand and loads of fun with like-minded swimmers and triathletes

ACCOMMODATION:

  • Pay for 5 days half-board and receive 7 as part of Tri50 offer (applied in some form to different lengths of stay)

Accommodation info and recommendations:

1 bed superior in Plaza Verde to be in the athlete area away from families (next to the 8 lane pool). We also strongly recommend half-board – you will be busy most of the day and feeling pretty tired after all your training. Not only does the restaurant offer a good range of buffet food but it is very welcome, after a long day in the water, to be able to socialise and eat without having to cook. And breakfast is wonderful after an early morning training session.

This accommodation offers a large living room, kitchen, full bathroom plus double sink area and a bedroom with double or twin beds (specify on booking). The living room also has a sofa bed so you could share the bedroom or have 1 person in the bedroom and 1 in the living room. Please note that access to the room is through the living room however.

If you prefer to take a studio or 2 bedroom apartment then request to be as close as possible to Plaza Verde.

Studio rooms are very similar to the 1 bed but no bedroom – a drop down bed in the living room and a small galley kitchen. Will sleep one or a couple.

2 bedrooms are the same as 1 bed with extra bedroom and extra bathroom

Flights:

Athlete choice. Arrive and leave when you wish from an airport of your choice. How about adding on a few days to have a holiday and bring your family to enjoy some R&R in the sunshine and on the beach. Sands Beach will happily arrange transfers.

Further Information:

  • Individual underwater filming, technique analysis and 1-1 feedback
  • Small coach/athlete ratios to ensure individual attention throughout the camp
  • Fully coached training sessions for each discipline to include tempo, endurance, hills and speed work.
  • Technique sessions for each discipline including transition skills
  • 3 or 4 fully coached sea swim sessions. The sea swims are designed to cater for everyone. Jo and Sandra will provide the perfect coaching environment to build confidence in the sea while more experienced swimmers have the opportunity to build their swim endurance, and develop and practice their OW skills
  • Brick sessions to learn how manage transition from bike to run
  • Core strength, and upper body strength (led by Sandra who is also a L4 Personal Trainer.) Learn simple exercises necessary to help keep you fit and well and reduce your injury risk. What exactly do we mean by ‘core’ anyway? By the time you go home you will have a programme to use that doesn’t require a gym, and you will know how to execute your exercises correctly
  • Workshops – Learn about sports nutrition for your training and racing; how to build your own basic training programme including how to use CSS sessions in the pool; whether or not to train with power on the bike; and a Q&A with a highly experienced and successful mature GB Age-Group athlete who will share his training tips and secrets
  • Unfettered access to your Coaches to ask questions and pick brains. We are there to offer guidance and support, pass on our knowledge and share our experiences. But we also want to encourage input and discussion among the athletes so you too can pass on your key tips and reflections from your own experiences
  • Resort Aquathlon at the end of the week – open to everyone
  • Tri50 Mini Tri at the end of the week
  • Strength programme and Core Conditioning programme to take home
  • Support, friendship and encouragement from a group of like-minded individuals which will almost certainly continue long past Day 8

What to bring
Hiring Road Bikes

Road and mountain bikes can be hired at the resort with Papagayo Bikes. Ensure you know your frame size before signing up! Take your pedals, saddle and drinks bottle with you and helmets are available for hire if you prefer. Papagayo provide a basic puncture repair kit and the on-site sports shop carries inner tubes. Papagayo also provide cyclists with an emergency rescue service.
