SWIM CAMP, SANDS BEACH RESORT, COSTA TEGUISE, LANZAROTE

With Covid 19 still in our midst, now couldn’t be a better time to be investing in your own health and improving your swimming!

Tri50 will make that difference, come and join our Team of professional and qualified Coaches, who will guide and support you on your swimming journey, whatever it may be:-

  • Become a more confident Freestyle swimmer in both the pool and open water.
  • Learn Open Water skills in the pool and then transfer to the calm waters of a Costa Teguise beach.
  • Transition from pool swimming to entering your first Triathlon event, from Super Sprint to Half and Full Ironman.
  • Perhaps a stand-alone open water event is on your radar, with aspirations to joining a Channel Swim Team, and why not!
  • Overcome any fears or hang-ups from years gone by with the empathetic and gentle approach of the Coaches.
  • Learn how to become an efficient and competent swimmer through means of Drills and Skills transferred to you during the week’s pool sessions.
  • Understand the use of swim equipment to assist in varying your swim sessions, so that Motivation stays with you.
  • Learn every Safety aspect to keep your head above water, literally!
  • Distance sea swims will be co-ordinated during the week.
  • Draw up your own Swim Training Plan, with guidance and gained knowledge.

The Swim Camp is suited to anyone who can swim 50m Front Crawl, tread water, and is comfortable in deep water.

All abilities, all ages, male and female, will be made very welcome – you will return to the UK/Europe fulfilled, new friendships made, and ready to take your swimming to the next level.

7.30 AM: INTRODUCTION TO OPEN WATER + CHOICE
DISTANCE SWIM
11.30 AM: STRETCHING SESSION
5.00 PM: ALTERNATIVE STROKES – SKILLS & DRILLS

MONDAY:

7.30 AM: OPEN WATER SWIM + RUN

5.00 PM: CSS SWIM SESSION – TEST AND EXPLANATION. OR STARTS, TURNS AND DIVING

Ellie Barnes

Ellie Barnes, whom some of you may know as the Organiser and Race Director behind Barnes Fitness Events, approached me many years ago, when injured with a foot stress fracture, whilst training for London Marathon. 

 Under my weekly coaching guidance, Ellie learnt to become a proficient Freestyle swimmer so that she could cross-train whilst rehabilitating and I coached her to Age Group qualification status.  The rest is history – Ellie then went on to become a BTF Triathlon Coach, Personal Trainer and Run Coach. 

In Ellie’s own words:-

 “From an early age, I’ve always enjoyed the health and social benefits of exercise and I played netball to a high standard through school, college and university. Then I discovered running — and after that the joy of triathlon, as I’m an injury prone runner!

 I am a Level 2 Triathlon Coach as well as Personal Trainer and Running Coach. When I’m not running around after my three young children; Max – 7, Hannah & Freya – 6, I swim, bike and run as much as I can…. I have competed and podiumed at National, European and World Duathlon and Triathlon Championships as a GB Age group triathlete.

What really drives me, though, is going the extra mile to help others reach their goals — and then go on to set new ones.
